Do you ever feel like a plastic bag drifting through the wind wanting to start again? The opening round of the 250SX East Region kicked off in Minneapolis and I’m sure some of the riders do feel that way. I mean, sometimes I do. Also, Katy Perry is hot again, which is the complete opposite of the temperature in Minnesota on Saturday. Thank the heavens for the smoke show that is Katy “bleeping” Perry. Here’s a few talking points that I found interesting from the home state of Gannon Audette. Remember him? Gannon was great! So is Katy Perry.
Marv
For a guy in potentially his last year of professional racing, I’d say Marv is looking good to extend his deal for next season. If he wants to that is. Supercross-only may be a good gig for Musquin to extend his career another few years. He’s sitting seventh in points following a season best third in Minneapolis. Also, don’t look now, but Musquin is only seven points behind his teammate Webb for fifth in points. He’s been building all season and I think he’s a winner before the season is over.
250 East
One round down and I don’t even know what happened. My guy Grant Harlan was set to dominate and then was punted on the first lap of the LCQ with a boneheaded move by Marshal Weltin. Hunter’s brother won, but Jeremy Martin, RJ Hampshire, Austin Forkner, and Cameron McAdoo all looked great. A lot of good guys didn’t even make the night show. Next week is a Triple Crown and that will mix everything up even more. This class is too deep to have a predictable race in Arlington and I’m here for it.
Troll Train
Hey, shoutout to the Troll Train, Alex Martin! He’s getting better at this 450 gig! Ginger Dog told me to write about who I think one of the nicest guys in the sport is and he was one of the first riders I thought of. A 14th in a stacked field is pretty solid and he beat Chiz, which is hard to do. My hot take is that he will get a top ten before the season is over.
We’re onto Arlington!
