Trey Canard Could Have Signed With Pro Circuit at the End of 2006? Plus 2010 RedBud, 2014 Unadilla talk, and More! | Squad Pod

We’re gearing up for our annual Vurbmoto Classic at NXT LVL 101 in South Carolina on September 13-15. It’s our biggest race of the year. If you don’t believe us, just ask riders like Jo Shimoda, Haiden Deegan, Adam Cianciarulo, Justin Barcia, Justin Cooper, Cooper Webb, among others what this race meant to them. They will tell you that it completely changed the trajectory of their careers. We took them to the top baby! Now we will take you to the top. Sign up for your classes today and see if you can become King of the Classic.

It’s always a good conversation when Trey Canard is around. He’s actually one of those rare gems in the sport that remembers a ton from his awesome decade long career. If you mention a race to him he will at least have a few memories from that day.

At the 2025 Honda CRF450R Introduction at Ironman last month, Trey and I randomly had a conversation about 2013 Spring Creek, which was an epic battle between James Stewart and himself. That’s where I got the idea for this podcast. I picked a race (RedBud 2010) and I had Trey pick a race (Unadilla 2014) to talk about.

We also talked about going six for six at Loretta Lynn’s in 2006, what it was like racing Austin Stroupe and Nico Izzi, choosing GEICO Honda over Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki for his pro deal, and whether or not he ever wants to race a round of Pro Motocross ever again.
