Two Sets of Whoops (Built Differently) to Be Featured at Anaheim 2

Something cool and different to watch out for at round 3 of Monster Energy AMA Supercross today in Anaheim.

The track will feature back-to-back sets of whoops–great in its own right–but the added twist is they will be built differently. One will be rolled and one will be built in the normal way.

In an interview released yesterday, FELD’s Mike Muye, Sr. Director of Operations, talked about why they are building two sets.

“That’s really to see, is there a difference in how they break down throughout the night. So, we’ve build them originally this way, after the first set of qualifying sessions on Saturday, we’ll rebuild them the same way and that should give us a good chunk of data to make some decisions for the future.”

After getting buried over the nine-whoop policy implemented last year, this is good news. Maybe we get more whoops going forward?
