Welcome to the 2023 Slaw/VurbWes/Troy Dog Combined 250/450 Top Ten Power Rankings! Slaw, Wes, and Troy each have created their own list of who they believe carry the most power in the sport. They each have created their own categories and have weighted these people accordingly, whether its speed, following, SX skills, you name it.
Each week these rankings will be updated so that you guys can argue about how wrong they are in the comment section! Feel free to tell us if we’re right/wrong/or completely dumb.
Slaw Dog’s Pre-Arlington Power Rankings
Slaw: I will bullet point my thoughts so it is easier to read. Troy Dog has a hard time reading, so I’m making it easy for him to see how much better my rankings are.
- Travis is the GOAT. Literally have no idea how he does it.
- Now that the rescheduled round 2 has come and gone, we can all return to our daily lives. Rejoice!
- I got Jett over Tomac. Why? Because I think Chase Sexton had that win in the bag. Jett’s win was DOMINANT!
- Tomac creeping up on Stew and is the 450 points leader.
- If Chase get things to click, watch out.
- Cooper is a fing beast late in the race. Just grinds dudes to the bone.
- Hunter looks to remain unbeaten this weekend. I like his chances.
- RJ is a cyborg. I confirmed it this week.
- World Mini is back! Despite the name, it will have classes for all ages and bike sizes. Even you paw paw. Register now!
- He’s no Lurch, but Weege on the floor and interviewing small humans in the stands is amazing.
Troy Dog’s Pre-Arlington Rankings
Troy Dog: Leave it to one of my childhood heroes to come into the Daytona 500, lead a lap, and finish with a top 15. Honestly, at this point, if Travis’ knees weren’t so messed up and he could walk normal, I’d say he could play any sport and succeed. The guy is truly remarkable with everything he puts his mind and body towards. The 500 just added to his legend even more.
Trey Canard is on this list because he is back riding and testing for team Honda after a broken arm in the off-season that left Colt Nichols in charge of most of the testing. Well, Colt did a great job. Now with Trey back, they can fine-tune anything they might need. Trey is a legend as well as an incredible test rider. We will all see his work in the coming weeks convert to the track.
I have Eli Tomac in third because it would be too boring if I put him first every weekend. He got another huge win, tied RC in all-time Supercross wins, and extended his points to lead.
Jett remains undefeated and slings donuts.
I have Sexton, Webb, and Plessinger filing in after them.
Next on the list is; Brian Deegan? Why? Shouldn’t I be writing about Haiden? Well, I have a column coming out about Brian’s racing career and he deserves to be on this list.
Hunter Lawrence is trying to remain unbeaten in 2023 as he takes on the East Coast swing.
Last but not least, my bff VurbWes filmed 900 motos of amateur racing at the Mesquite MX LLAQ. He only ate an egg thingy from Starbucks all day. Yes, he saved us budget, but he lost 35 pounds in the process. His core is tight though.
VurbWes is busy taking care of his dogs and couldn’t find the time to submit. Shame!
